Oh mama, I expect chaos — and honestly, I welcome it. After photographing thousands of families (and raising 4 wild ones of my own), I’ve seen it all: meltdowns, sand-covered faces, toddler “escape artists.” Don’t stress — I’ve got tricks, games, and goofy mom energy that always bring out the real smiles. Some of my favorite shots are the “imperfect” ones anyway.

Think comfort meets island vibes. Flowing dresses, neutrals with a pop of color, nothing too matchy-matchy. I’ll send you a full style guide with outfit inspo and do’s + don’ts so you’re never left guessing. And don’t worry — if your 3-year-old insists on wearing goggles, I’ll roll with it. (Spoiler: it usually makes the best memory!)

You can plan to be barefoot, and most likely sandy and wet by the end of the session (especially if you have young kids- it should be illegal to not let them play at the beach ;) )

Welcome to the tropics 🌴 — we’re literally on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific, which means Mother Nature has her moods.

It’s Maui — rain happens, but so do rainbows 🌈. If it’s a light sprinkle, we embrace it (some of the dreamiest skies come after rain). If it’s a true downpour, I’ll always have a backup plan, (usually a 10 minute drive solves that!) You won’t be left hanging.

Afternoons especially can bring strong breezes. Luckily, you can’t see “wind” in photos — you’ll just look effortlessly beachy and fabulous. ✨

I don’t reschedule for wind or light rain, since both are part of the island’s personality and often make for the most magical skies. If it’s truly storming (the kind where even the chickens are hiding 🐓☔), then of course we’ll come up with a backup plan. But a little Maui wind? That’s just part of the adventure — and honestly, it usually makes the photos even better!

Both! I’ll guide you into flattering, natural poses (because I know you want one for the holiday card), but most of our time will feel candid and playful. Think tickle fights, running through the waves, big belly laughs — the moments that feel like your family.

For a full session, you’ll receive a beautiful, fully edited gallery with plenty of variety — usually 60+ images. Enough to fill your walls, your Christmas card, and your phone screensaver rotation for the year.

Honestly? It’s the mom-of-4-memory-obsessed factor. I get what it’s like to wrangle kids, juggle snacks, and still want beautiful photos that feel like your family. I don’t panic if things get chaotic — I THRIVE in it. My superpower is finding the joy inside the madness and turning it into magic.

And my goal is to leave our session with new tiny best friends that are sad our time is up already! (setting you up for success for your next session already because they had so much fun with me!)

Yes!! Most of my families tell me this, and then halfway through they’re laughing and forgetting I even have a camera. My job is to guide you, distract you, and get you comfortable.

My one rule - you have to LOVE your people. While I do my best to make it fun and joyful- I can’t fake that for you. If you are mad at your husband or kids, it will show. so please, just embrace the chaos and lower the expectations, and it will turn out perfect!

Been there. With my own kids. Last week. 😉 Don’t worry — I’ve got patience, humor, and tricks to turn tears into giggles. Sometimes we take a snack break, sometimes we pull out all the stops, even a phone and I’ll hold Bluey above my camera so they look. I’m also not above bribery. We gotta do what we gotta do to get the shot- and we will win this together! It always works out - as long as mom doesn’t cry too!

I truly believe these photos are the most valuable souvenir you’ll bring home. You worked so hard to save, plan, and just get to Hawaii, these memories deserve more than a few snaps on your phone by a random by stander. v
